Every Tuesday and Thursday in RSC 1.104 from 8:00pm - 10:00 pm

General Classes

These classes are designed to help beginners learn the mechanics and basics of Taekwondo and to show the way a general class would run. Classes begin with warm ups, stretching, and basic techniques. This class also helps those who are first time students of Taekwondo to become more familiar with class and to help sharpen the skills of more advanced students to advance to their next rank.

Overall, general classes are a casual and friendly environment to train and socialize with other members.

Things to learn from general classes:

  • Common Taekwondo terms
  • Practical class line up and line drills
  • Basic kicks, punches and blocks
  • Keeping in good overall shape
  • Good moral character

Things needed to attend general class:

  • Work out pants, please no shorts if possible.
  • Proper Taekwondo uniform if you have one.
  • Properly cut finger nails and toe nails.

Sparring Classes

Sparring classes are for the more dedicated and determined students of sport Taekwondo. More physically and mentally demanding, sparring is the sport side of Taekwondo and sparring class is designed to prepare students for WTF Olympic Style competition. Regulation gear is required to spar.

Things to learn from sparring classes:

  • Tournament terms
  • Sparring strategy and technique
  • Do's and Dont's of competition
  • Good sportsmanship
  • Team comradeship

Equipment needed for sparring class:

  • A Hogu, chest protector (provided)
  • Forearm guards (provided)
  • Shinguards (provided)
  • Cup (recommended)
  • Mouthpiece (optional)
  • Athletic tape
